A little help please---throttle sticking?

This has become more regular but still somewhat intermittent. When accelerating something seems to stick....more pressure on the go pedal and no go (holds about 1900 RPM) ....until for no apparent reason something lets loose it takes the fuel the turbo spools up and off we go. Has been happening most frequently from a stop but the other day it happened while trying to pass. No codes or anything I did have a engine light on sometime ago that produced a MAP sensor code but that was cleared and has not reappeared. Any ideas where to start are greatly appreciated. Thanks

You may have to check codes for this one as trying to throw parts at it could get expensive. Key on and off leave on on third time with ignition on and engine not running will display codes for you.

Thank you sir! I didn't know that....That revealed P0237 and P0069. Googled that and came up with a low voltage code for MAP sensor and a MAP correlation code that could be putting the truck into limp mode or this dead pedal comdition I have as others have called it. Looks like I need to start there and clean tet and maybe replace MAP sensor. Thanks again.

You definitely have codes for the MAP and they will give you some weird operations.

However, they will not make the accelerator "stick" at any point. If the throttle is actually sticking and you have to give it more pressure to go past a cerrtain point then there is another problem.

Just guessing but you have an auto, correct? The sticking throttle is a problem with the TV valve in the VB. Sonnax has a repair kit for just this issue.

I guess sticking throttle was the wrong way to describe it. The dead pedal is more correct I think. Replaced the MAP sensor or is it the MAF senosr...the one at the turbo and it did fine all weekend up until this morning when I received the p00069 code and the CEL again. I replaced versus cleaning thinking almost 200k miles it had served its purpose but now I'm lefting wondering if I changed the wrong part and did just throw parts at it.....

Any idea are always greatly appreciated. Thanks

Not sure what you replaced. The turbo doesn't have an sensors.

The MAP is on the intake maifold about where #4 cylinder is. Its a combo MAP\IAT sensor. The AIT, air inlet temp, and Barmoetric pressure sensor combo is the one on the air box.

There is no MAF on these trucks.

By at the turbo I menat the one on the intake tube if you will...Hell, I'm all goofed up do they look the same? Maybe I put a new map sensor in over on the AIT spot.....the one I put in looks just like the one I pulled out.

HA....I just thought I was mechanically inclined...

You probably need to replace the MAP sensor on the intake manifold.

Got the correct sensor and replaced the MAP sensor on the manifold....P00069 is now gone but I now have two other codes I didn't have before P0236 and P0238...yeehaw these evidently have to do with the boost sensor.

The code that won't die......I replaced new map sensor with old as it was not a factory part thinking they maybe different some how....The only code I have left is the P0236 Turbo Boost Sens A Circ Perf....which I understand to be an over-boost code? I have returned the programming to stock...taken boost fooler off..and disconnected batteries for about 30 min thinking it would reset. I have cleared the code with my programmer a dozen times and it will not go away...clear code..turn key off..turn key on there it is...clear code....read code directly and its back. I have yet to start and drive the truck....maybe I need too. Maybe reinstalling the boost fooler will eliminate this code? Does the part (map sensor) need to be the factory part? The first Autozone part looked like the IAT sensor..exactly like it. It wouldn't fit for MAP sensor as it was flat. SU8556 Second Autozone Sensor SU346 is not listed for our trucks but fits and is correct shape with electrical plug facing up but has 2 orings. Again....I must just think I'm mechanically inclined because obviously I'm clueless....
