limited slip rear end...wish i had one
i bought a 06 2500 and its a one wheel wonder. wondering if anyone has come across a limited slip rear end that might be for sale or know where to get one. i thought bout a locker but i think a limited slip would be more appropriate for what i am using it for. any info greatly appreciated

As far as I know there are no lockers available yet.
Also, I have the limited slip. It might as well not have it, it spins the one wheel even when Im easy on the pedal. I miss my 01 with the good limited slip that worked awesome!
I wish someone would come out with something!
Have a good one.

It is a $325 option looking at the Dodge "Build Your Own" web site. It seems when I was looking for my '07 I saw a few window stickers without the "Anti Spin Differential". Even if it only works sort of, it ought to come standard. Any "smart" dealer ought to order it on every truck though; some do and some don't.

lightly apply the emergency brake to give it some resistence and then lightly accelerate. These things work!! Don't give it front braking because now you are keeping the truck from trying to move.

Mine works fine, two big black stripes the one and only time I ever power braked it. Tapping the brakes works great in sand/rocks.
The only locker I would put in, front or rear would be a selectable like an ARB or Eaton E-Locker. I have been told by one of the techs at ARB they are working on one for the rear, that was a couple of years ago.

The limited slip in these trucks is very strong. It just takes some torque to get it to engage. Its bias is a little high, probably do to the fact its made for a heavy truck. Trying to get it to engage in an empty truck is hard to do. Put 2,000 lbs in the bed and try it. World of difference.

I'm with everyone who thinks the optioal locker is crap. I've gotten stuck so many times, and watch with amazement only one tire spin. I don't care how strong it supposed to be, the **** thing should work consistently. I love the way my buddie's 07 GMC 3500 SRW works. Locks as advertised! My advice is to buy the unit for the GM 11.5" and be done with it. Had I known how crappy this unit that this Dodge spec'd unit performs, I would've saved the money on the option and bought the one for the GM and installed it.

Mine works excellent, locks up both wheels, have to be cautious in the snow because it always fish tails, as far as pavement goes, anytime I mash it, it leaves 2 nice tire marks. AAM makes the axles for GM.

^^^ Yep - gotta be careful in rain, sand/gravel, etc. - rearend gets loose pretty easily.
I've found the Torsen-type gear anti-spin in the '05 to grab harder than the Dana in my '98 - even after I installed a new posi unit (exloded the old one) and set the clutch packs tighter than when I drove it home new from the dealer.
