There is..

Detroit it, powertrax it, or "lincoln lock" it. Weld them spider gears together.. works great yet no guarantees. I know second gens like mine have lockers available, But I do know from a good friend that third gens usually dont. cause of their new axles... dont worry, ive been stuck on wet grass before myself, posilock it and drive out.. but to avoid the embarrasment i lock in the 4wd if im in doubt...
