Lift pump replacement....
I have 50,000 miles on my 3500 2004.5, I am always worried about the lift pump failing.
Will they replace it under warranty before it fails or do I have to be towed in and the pump completely failed before they will replace it with the in tank pump.
Thanks

If it kicks out a LP code they will replace it. At least they did mine at 23,000 miles. It's covered under the Cummins engine warranty. 7yr/ 100,000 miles. Last 2 years a $100 dollar deductible is required.

Buy an aftermarket one and say goodbye to the stock setup... Do some reading and use GDP, AirDog or Fass.
My 2004.5 had the pump on the filter which makes adding an aftermarket pump easier than if it is mounted in the tank which is what Dodge will do if they replace your pump.
I chose GDP-392 and changed mine before it failed. I did not want to risk hurting something else. I was also concerned about hurting injectors with the stock filter so I also added the 2 Micron filter.
