My 03 2500 has developed a miss at start up. When I start the truck after it has sat for 8 hours or longer, the truck will fire on one cylinder then die. I soon as try to start it again it will fire up and run great. If I plug the truck in it seems to not happen as often. The truck idles and runs great after that. I don't have to crank for more than 3-4 secs each time I start the truck.
I have also noticed my lift pump buzzing louder than normal. The truck acts like it is not getting enough fuel to the motor at start up. The fuel filter is good. I changed the fuel filter the other day, and it seemed the lift pump was slow to fill the canister back up, but I don't know how long it should take.
I don't get any smoke and haven't grown any oil either. Any info would be appreciated.

 

Sounds like your lift pump might be on its last legs. You could also try a injecter cleaner like Seafoam or Howes and see if it helps.
