Lift Pump - BD, PPE, or Geno's Factory Replacement

Ok, I know that everyone will say spend the cash and get Airdog or FASS, I just can't see spending that kind of money for my stock setup, I don't plan on adding any major mods, maybe a tuner to help with towing buy on a low setting.

So I have been reading all sorts of post and can't find anything on the
BD Diesel Lift Pump Kit - OEM Bypass - Dodge 2003-2004
and the PPE Electric Fuel Pump. Should I just stick with a factory replacement from Geno's garage. I would guess that the BD or PPE is going to be a little better than a factory lift pump.

Does anyone what the factory lift pump is rated at.

I like the BD and the PPE pump but don't know if they need to be used with the factory lift pump or if they will replace them.

Any help would be appreciated, but please don't tell me I need to buy the Airdog or FASS, I understand they are superior to anything I could do but I can't afford them.

Thanks

Whatever you get go with something close to the tank. sucking fuel that distance is hard on any pump

Called up Geno's today. Talked LP's. Ordered their stock replacement. My truck has run just fine stock, so can't see making a big change. This will be easy to change on a trip if needed. I know it's not the best but I bet there are more trucks with stock LP's than others.

I believe the ole man ordered a BD from here. Happy with it, i believe he's at around 15 psi idle. he's happy with it. Quiter than stock, and preforms better than the stocker (plus DTR helps you with the price)

I looked at the BD pump - terrible reviews on XDP.

In reply to MikeyT lets look at a few things, the lift pump in question on the XDP site is a factory replacement carter style pump. How well has the factory one been for you? You get what you pay for, low price and one year warranty. Our flow-Max lift pump is yes higher dollars but in return you’re getting a pump that will produce 150 GPH at 10psi with 165 GPH at full flow 10% smaller and 16db quieter, backed by a 5 year warranty. Most commonly it comes down to what are your needs, your wants, your future plans, then that are you willing to afford, are you going to go with brand A because its 150 cheaper, or option B that’s worth the little extra.

Fair enough Hector - didn't realize I was on the wrong page.

Looks like better reviews for the flow-Max, but by your own argument it's only a few bucks more to get a unit with secondary filtration

Shopping for myself I do worry about having the filter canisters under the truck on the rotten resource-roads I bounce around on at work. A straight pump like this might be a better choice.

Your still able to install secondary filter kits with the flow max, but again it boils down to needs wants and pricing.

I think I'm going with the factory replacement from Geno's, if I get a big line kit will that help the pump any? Is it worth the money and time?

Does anyone have a link or instructions on how to replace the pump with the one factory replacement from Geno's? What tools do I need? Is it something I can do on the side of the road if I get stuck? I don't want to replace the pump until the original goes out.

I have one and I am going to make sure I carry the tools to change it. Darkness might be a problem on the road.
