Lets hope these do the trick!

Having a rough go with front end issues for 3 years. 3 sets of Moogs and 1 set of Ray Bestos ball joints in 35 k. These Carli balljoints look amazing! Well for 8 Bills they better be great!

I have noticed others here with the same issues.

I have seen several bad reports on the Moogs on different forums. Haven't heard a thing about the raybestos brand. Dynatrack seems to get the nod from most people I have talked to.

I just got done doing my BJ's. Original ones had 70k on them. I'm not sure about the top ones, but they had alot of up and down movement when I took them off, but the lower ones seem fine. Heck, the grease was still very white in them. I did these since I bought the new steering linkage upgrade, thought might as well knock them out too. I went with the Raybestos ones, hoping they are good since McQuay-Norris got pretty good reviews. I was really surprised how it all went, just time consuming. The hub an axle all came out in one swoop, which helped me alot!!

Place them in the freezer overnight. That will shrink them just enuff to make the install way easier.

Got them in yesterday, thanks to the guys who helped me! What a pain in the rear! Hopefully they last a while...like a 100k would be nice.

My Ball Joint replacement story.

A few years ago, I was hearing a clunking noise on tight turns and I figured the U-joints on the front axle was going bad. I brought it to dealer and they confirmed that the U-joints were going, and my ball joints needed replacing. I picked up the truck and brought it to a former dealer that still had their former shop personnel. They did the work and replaced the ball joints with Moog. The first time I drove it, I noticed that there was more "wander" then before. I brought it back several times, but they assured me that everything was "in spec."

After doing some research, I decided to replace my ball joints myself with Dynatracs. After getting the Moog's out on the drivers side, the Dynatracs just sorta fell into place, no resistance like there should have been. So I mic'ed 'em, and found that the Dynatracs were a few thousanth of a inch smaller then the Moog's.

Now my questions is, did that shop do something to the holes to make the Moogs fit? or were the Dynatrac's smaller then specified? I am not sure, because I don't know the original specs were. I was able to return the dynatrac's and put a new Moog back in. I am now thinking that maybe I might be stuck with replacing them with Moogs in the future.

The next time I have to do ball joints, I would like to go with something other then Moogs, so I will have to carefully measure them again and see if I can get another brand that will fit.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Theres a theory out there that if you install splined ball joints you risk enlarging the hole. I'll find out next time when I need to redo the ball joints. The Raybestos BJ's i put in were splined. I heard that Dynatrac will perform a modification for you if your dead set on installing a set. Just my input from the information I read....

I believe the theory of enlarging the inside diameter was something that Sage Carli researched and confirmed. I plan to use Carli ball joints if my vehicles need them in the future.

Those look too good, I would put them in a glass case and hang them on my wall.
