Leaky CP3.
Every now and then I get a wiff of diesel, when I walk past the front of my truck. I started looking and noticed theres somre oily buildup on top of the injector pump, between the two halfs.
Early this morning, it was actually wet. I drove it all day and looked at it again, and it wasnt wet anymore. So, it seems to be seeping sometimes, but not always.
I have real good rail pressure, always. Do you guys think I can go a while without replacing it? I cant afford to take off work, right now.
One things for sure, ..Im not going to keep running additive on a pump thats going to have to be replaced.

Not an uncommon problem. Like they had a bad batch on 04.5 trucks. Mine was replaced at 20,000 miles do to this issue. Another thing to do more often is drain the fuel canister more often to keep a check on water. If it gets in the CP3 and freezes it can cause issues like this. Thread on TDR about this same type issue with water freezing in CP3.

I've got an 06 and just noticed the underside of mine was wet after seeing some spots on the garage floor. I've got just over 12,000 mi. There must be more than one bad batch. I guess I'll be going to the dealer this week I hope it's not too much of a pain to get it replaced.

My CP3 always has a seepage during winter but bone dry in the summer since new.I had it replaced once but still doing the same.Cp3 is made of two different metals (cast iron and aluminum);they have different rate of expansion and contraction. For some reason, the O-ring in not able to seal them up during cold season.
