Leaking coolent, whats wrong?

So heres my problem, I noticed a week or so ago that I had a few drops of coolent under my truck, I looked under the hood and noticed that the overflow hose right behind the cap on the radiater had some coolent around it and also on the airbox, I pushed the hose on tighter and figured I fixed the problem. A day later, same spots, this time I looked under the truck and I can see that it looks like it may be dripping from mutiple spots. It nomally only drips after the truck has been running and then is turned off. Is this a reacurring problem for this year truck? What could the problem possibly be? Its still under warrenty so Im gonna call the dealership here next week.

Put a clamp on that hose and that should take care of it. I had the same problem and found a thread on here about putting a hose clamp on.

couple places seem to occur a lot. That hose, the small hose on the side of the engine and the block heater. My truck drove me crazy with the dripping when I first got it. The dang block heater need 2 solid turns to be tight. never leaked a drop after that.

Follow the cord back to where it plugs into the heater on the side of the block. The heater is kind of like a water heater element in your house. It just screws into the side of the block. You can take the cord off and use a socket or like I did, just use a big adjustable wrench and tighten it up with the cord still on.

Usually the hose clamps on external trans cooler right side engine behind turbo are not tight and hose starts leaking. Also check water pump for leakage will notice coolant leaking down by ac compressor right front of engine. Also check for broken hose clamps at lower radiator hose. I have found these to be the most common places for coolant leaks. Good Luck

I had a small coolant leak on my truck also, really had to heat soak before it would show up. Turned out to be the heater? hose under and behind the turbo. It is a foil covered hose about 4 inches long. Tightened the clamps and all is good

Thats a good place to start looking, happenend to mine and a couple of friends trucks. Right there can be diecieving because if its happening during a time running your ac you see the spot under the truck and right it off as condesation from the ac until you smell the coolant.

There was a problem with a short 2 in hose between the motor and heater coil in your dash. Look around behind your turbo and you will see the little critter. Lots of folks have enjoyed leaks from there including me. Dodge sawpped out the hose for one that actauuly fit properly, issue gone
