I drive by there in the morning and in the evening, but I work downtown. Of course, stopping by that area on my way home gives me a good excuse to stop at Freebirds and pick some burritos up for dinner.

This fuel...as well as the tank before it...came from the Murphy USA in Georgetown. I've used Murphy a lot in the past and never had any problems, but this was only the second time I've filled up at this particular station.

I thought the engine and drivetrain warranty cut off at 70,000 miles??
5 Year/100K, take it to a dealer if the other ideas don't help.

That's good to know. For some reason I was thinking the engine had a 7 year / 70K mile warranty. I really don't want to take it to a dealer, but I guess if I have to then I have to.

36K should be the bumper to bumper. You should have at least the 7/70 for your powertrain warranty.

Well, I bought a bottle of Sea Foam and dumped it in the tank tonight. Hopefully my drive to work tomorrow will clean the injectors...if that's the problem.

I also checked my oil level. No signs of diesel in the oil, so that's a good thing.

I'm really starting to think it's bad fuel. It's never done this before and it started almost immediately after I filled up my last tank. I may top it off with some B20 tomorrow and continue doing that every time it gets down to the 3/4 mark. If it is bad fuel, maybe diluting it with some good B20 will help.

Thanks for the help...and if anyone else has any ideas let me know.

Well...after driving 30 miles to work this morning there is no difference. It's still idling rough and it's still knocking. I guess I'll have to leave early today and drop it off at the dealership.

I hate to say it but it sounds like my truck did....with a dropped valve seat and valve...and the piston beating against the valve and seat for almost a year. Tell the dealer that's what you think it is then you get a new headgasket, headstuds torqued, and you get to check your valve train out. Or you could just get them to check your valve lash on all rockers. Sounds valve related to me.....but what do I know...I'm an amateur at this. KS

2006 4x4 Dodge Dually Diesel With 2100 Miles On It, When You Let Off The Gas Pedal It Has A Loud Knock In The Drive Train, And It Can Be Heard Going Over Railroad Tracks. Dealer Says Its Normal For A 4x4 But They Have Had It In The Shop For Two Weeks And Its Still Not Fixed.

Welcome to DTR Tex37

Better start another thread all your own on this problem. It won't get the "attention" you need way down here in Hoss's thread.

Basically, it was a clogged fuel injector combined with a "bad fuel injector connector"...whatever that is. It was all fixed under the engine warranty and I didn't have to pay a dime. Now it purrs like a kitten....a very BIG and MEAN kitten.
