Installing Tru-Cool H7B, Mag-Hytec 727DD, and AMSOIL

This is my next project the next warm weekend that comes along. I have searched and found many good tips in this forum and I felt pretty confident until I accessed the situation up under the truck trying to identify the hot line, return lines, the best place in the system to place the cooler, etc. I crawled out from under totally confused on which lines were which and where I need to put the cooler in the system. So now I have several questions:

1) Which line is the return? The one in the front or rear of pan?
2) Where in the line is best to add the h7b?
3) Upfront, which one is the return? top or bottom?
4) What is the fluid capacity? I have seen 9 and 12 quarts referenced (unable to find anything in owners manual). This seems like a lot, in the forums I see 4 and 6 quarts referenced quite a bit so I'm really unsure now.
5) What are the correct order of steps to ensure complete drain and replacement with the AMSOIL?
6) Does Mag-Hytec 727DD add 4 or 5 quarts to capacity. I have seen both referenced.

Any other tips or gotcha's to be aware of?

I'm about to do the same thing. Here is what I've discovered:

1. After reading posts on this forum, the rear line or the one without the flexible portion is the return line
2. Don't know
3. Don't know
4. According to Mag Hytec the DD pan "holds 9 quarts which is 4 quarts more than the stock pan." However, the shop manual implies the stock pan holds 4 quarts which makes the DD pan 5 quarts larger than stock. My plan is to fill on the low side and then add as needed to get an exact fill. The stock 48RE holds between 14.5 and 16.5 quarts according to the shop manual. So, we're going to need between 18.5 and 21.5 quarts.
5. Amsoil has a procedure on their website. http://www.amsoil.com/faqs/ATF_and_F...Procedures.pdf
