Yeah thats what I was thinking when I get some more time I will just re wire it over, cause it should be reading something, I can feel the sender pulsing, so I hope that fixes it. I just wanted to make sure I tapped into the right banjo bolt because this one line comes from the bottom of the filter housing and the one on the right comes from the top left side of the housing and I dont know which is which on return or whatever would make a difference??????

The one you used is fine. Like AH said, maybe ground the sender, the hose will kinda insulate it which might not work with the electric gauge.

well this is what they told me at Glowshift where I bought the gauge.
"You would need to purchase a Snubber Valve. When you first start your vehicle there is a pressure spike in the fuel system. This will effect the sending unit. The Snubber Valve will stop that pressure spike hitting the sending unit." And now they said they r sending me a new sending unit. So I guess I will try the snubber when I get the new sender unit, I tried it on the other one but still no pressure?

well finally got the gauge reading a pressure by directly hooking up the sender to the injector pump which glowshift told me to do, and now it reads steady 3 or 4 psi at idle is that ok Im not sure what I should be getting. Im about to change the fuel filter out and see if it raises the pressure any?

What year is yor truck? (You should fill in your signature so we know what you have)
Sounds kinda low, I was getting 8 psi at idle with my stock pump.

Thats about half of what it should be, you should see 7-8 psi with a good in-tank pump. If you used the snubber it may be interfering with correct readings.

BTW, they are full of crap if they think there is a pressure spike on engine start on your truck. As soon as you turn the key the pressure will slowly come up until the pump cuts off, same thing happens when it starts. There is no spike on start.

2006 Dodge 2500 mega cab 5.9 liter 52k miles and I just changed the fuel filter and same exact reading 3-4 at idle, so Im wandering if the dealership was correct when they told me my lift pump was weak? Everybody else told me no cause my truck starts and runs fine, and there is no codes showing? also I took the snubber valve off and same reading. The dealer was trying to get me on the dirty fuel game and wanted to replace evrything for 11k...

Well an update of my fuel pressure gauge problems... I decided to go ahead and change out my lift pump to be on the safe side becuase the last month my gauge has only been reading 0 all the time, so now with new pump installed just a factory replacement from Auto Zone, I am reading 7-8 at idle and all seems well finally.... Question I know yall say 7-8 at idle will it change while driving or should it read the same all the time, and also how low should I let it drop too before I need to change my fuel filter, right now it has a new one in, just wandering if it drops to 5-6 or so if that means its time to change or not? thanks

A drop to 5-6 under hard acceleration is normal. When it start dropping to 3-4 psi then a filter change may be in order. All these trucks and gauges are a bit different so you have to work with yours.

ok thanks, right now it's been reading 7-9 psi at idle i havnt driven it yet since I got it working right. It's pretty neat though when I turn my key on I see pressure up to 13-14 then it drops to zero when the pump shuts off before I try starting, so I thought that was pretty cool to be able to see that it is sending fuel correctly with just the key on.

With my in-tank I get 8-9 at idle. 7-8 under normal cruise and 5ish at WOT.
