was caused by my chip, how would they know this if they don't even have the part to look at
my ? is how many others out there have had this problem with or without a box.btw my
dealer said it was a part defect should be covered rite.wrong they also said my engine warr
is void. it all started a month ago ran fine then oil&fuel started pouring out the pcv vent,

Had an injector fail on mine shortly after i bought it. Apparently it held open, trail of white smoke behind my truck for about a mile. If i remember, the part was in the $375 dollar range. Warranty claim however. 10k later no issues.

I always pull my box off when the truck goes in for any work. If I get by without paying for some kind of engine problem I'll be happy but if they tell me the problem was caused by a fueling box I will accept it and pay. (Only after raising a little cain though! )

i have a 03 SO and have my #1 injector ticking away. seems the dealer does not want to look at it, been doing this since about 15000km. now have about 47000km. I have no mods or anything done to it. I would liek to knwo of any one who has had injector problems and what the dealer has doen and what the numbe sis to the dealer, either in Canada or the US.

do you know who has had this problem and what dealers have they gone to fix it also if their is any customer service bullitons out . why i ask is my dealer is threating me on cancelling my warrenty so i dont want to egg him on any more, by doing the work myself. plus i would perfer dodge does it themselves, as i still have warrenty and do not want to be turning wrenches on it for what is covered already for them to do. why else would have gotten rid of my otrher truck. thanks for the response.

The dealers can tell if you had a box on the truck by checking the memory in the computer. Boxes can leave a "footprint", which can be seen if they go looking for it. The dealers are getting wise to the use of performance boxes.
I talked to a number of the dealers, here in the Phoenix. AZ area, and they said that as long as the truck had a muffler and air cleaner on it, you were OK. But, anything that changed the way the truck fueled itself would be cause for warranty denial. They said DON'T DO IT!!!
Interesting thing is, though, a lot of them sell performance boxes.
Aparently, there is a small margin of safety with boxes like the Edge EZ. I was told they don't interfere with the computer and if you keep them on a lower level they may not be detected as long as they don't preasurize the fuel above the level the stock HPCR can preasurize it. The computer won't show an elevation of preasure above what the injection system is supposed to be able to do.
But, you have to remember to remove the velcro used to hold the box in place. The dealers look for any trace that a box was installed.

Buffalo,
How do you know that they can tell if you have a box? I don't think they can. They may be able to tell on those that actually reprogram the ecm (like bullydog downloader), but other than that they can't tell. Of course if the rail pressure goes above that which is prgrammed in the ECM, you will get a fault code and check engine light, but they cannot plug in and say, oh, you have had a box plugged in at one time.
