Hey guys I got an 05 Cummins I took to the dealership to diagnose it and they told my number 1 injector was out and dumping fuel which makes sense, it usually misses and smokes white and you can smell the fuel, but sometimes it runs perfectly fine like nothing's wrong. My question is when an injector is messed up would it work fine sometimes and not work sometimes or would it be an electrical problem instead of a injector problem?

 

Yes problem can be intermittent. Pintle could stick sometimes or possible the solenoid doesn't work right at times.
