Question Injector Flush - Opinions?

I'd appreciate y'all's opinion on dealer recommended injector flushes at $50 a bottle.

Last trip, I got the sales pitch that every other oil change
you should do it. Since I change my fuel filter every 8000 miles or less it doesn't seems needed to me?

You shouldn't need it if you run a fuel conditioner. I run power service diesel clean. Others run Stanadyne or howe's. They're all good products. I run the diesel clean cause I can get it at wal-mart for cheap.

I don't think so. Way too costly and I doubt they use stuff any better than what you can purchase for a fraction of the cost.

Use a good quality additive such as Howes, Lucas or Stanadyne and say "No" to the dealer's magic injector elixir

I used Stanadyne awhile back. I'll start using it again and thanks.

Cusik - do you mean the diesel at the stations outside the Walmart Stores? I would pay .50 more a gallon just to have to not go into a Walmart store. The ones around here are a nightmare. Crowded and full of crying babies and no helpfull employees. I dispise Walmart stores and can't see how some people make it part of their daily ritual to go there. IMO if the economy is so bad (The Presidents fault of course) then why is the Walmart parking lot jammed and people leaving three-w-shopping carts full of crap. One of my goals is to live in an area where a Walmart trip would take a day.
Sorry for the Rant
BTW I would like to be a greeter at one of these stores for a day. It would be like Candid Camera. "welcome to Walmart-here is your shopping cart (with 1/2 a front wheel) "welcome to Walmart, what the h^&* are you doing in this dump etc. etc. I could have a blast.

Just another example of dealer gouging. I have always used Stanadyne. It is also marketed under John Deere. Just dump a $3 bottle in every now and then.

You can sit down to a pretty good nose bag with your missus for $50. I'm still recovering.

Thumbs down Wal-Mart

ppsi. . . I relish my Wal-Mart adventures as well

I steer well clear of Wal-Mart. I find great deals at other places and get better customer service to boot. This area has gone Wal-Mart crazy with 3 new stores in 3 years and we're only 120,000 population
