I have to disagree, the Allison seems to have its fair share of problems and it is only an allison by name, it is not the same type they put in the big motorhomes/trucks/buses etc. I'll take my 48RE over the Chev/Allison.
My company provides me a company car, they have all been fords for the last 20 years, nothing but problems, I would never consider a ford product. The chev does have a nice interior, but it is no better than my '05 Laramie interior, with the exception of the seat memory. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
As far as the Dmax and 6.0 ford motors go, just go read their diesel boards and see the problems they are having and what about the EGR valves they are all complaining about. DCX and Cummins got it right.
