Idling in nuetral?

Idling in nuetral?
Is it still a common belief that the '05 trucks do not circulate trans fluid in park when in stock form?
I'm just curious if the general knowledge has changed in the last couple of years.
What I'm really getting at, is do I still continue idling in neutral rather than park?? I have been for 134,000 miles worth of cool downs and trips into the grocery store. Stock trans is still fine, but I break a parking brake release lever every 18 months now.

Yes, definitely still idle in neutral. As for the parking brake cable breaking every 18 months, that's kind of odd. How far are you depressing the pedal to get the brake to engage? Is the cable able to move freely when you depress the pedal?

The plastic lever deal is breaking, not the cable.
It's not that uncommon actually. There's a thread about it somewhere....I think that handle wasn't designed for every day use.

it seems I recalled the thread because I started it

I have been setting the parking brake on mine ever since I learned about the recall on the trans. (Honk your horn if it isn't in park and you open the door recall ) Rather than take it to the dealer for that flash, I simply set my parking break. I haven't broke the release yet but I am also careful after reading that thread a while back.
Back to the OP's question, I also idle in neutral.

Gentlemen, I have a 2011 CTD 6spd auto. Do I need to idle my truck in Neutral with the E-brake instead of park? Reason I ask is because my truck has 1800 miles on it but also has about 240hrs of idle on it. It idles due to my work and the fact that I leave it running.

Do you have documentation of this? Not saying your wrong, I'm just asking since documentation for such a wide spread issue that largely effects transmission longevity is something I would want to see before I went along with it.
