mopar antifreeze

Yeah I went to the Chrysler dealer and showed them my owners manual for the truck, showed them that it specifically needs HOAT and they said the part number has been super-ceded by some new number and he brought out a jug that had the mopar emblem on the front. But it didn't say HOAT. I think its the green stuff cause inside cause all it says is it is compatible with everything and has that mixing/temp chart on the back that Looks like Prestone's. So they did some whiz-bang computer tricky and it said on the screen, good for Dodge trucks with CTD.
I didn't open it. I can't blame no one but myself for buying it. $14. But I guess I can give it to my parents for their 300M, since they won't take it back, tried that.

I sent the question to Chrysler contact and gave them the part numbers out of my manual and the numbers on the jug of anti-freeze. That was no help.
They repeated the numbers out of my manual back to me, saying that use what is listed in the manual and ignored my question. Then continued to say I need to bring the truck in for that looney put it in park alarm. Not.

So I need to go by autozone and get the zerex. should have done that to begin with

G-05 is what is in your vehicle from the factory- Zerex G-05 from Wally is probably your most cost efficient and safest choice.

Once I had the dealer change the oil in my truck & they put in 10W-30 claiming that that's what they have been serviceing all the trucks with... I MADE them drain the oil back out & put in 15W-40. I had to argue w/ the service manager for half an hour to get him to do this

I looked at a jug of that zerex the other day, in the fine print it specifcally says not compatible with HOAT systems and could cause damage if used.

It says not compatible with OAT ... though the way it's worded it is kinda hard to understand difinitively. The guy at the auto parts store where i got mine actually called their Valvoline rep and he verified ... said he's been asked this same question a thousand times +. The Valvoline Zerex GO5 is definitely what you want to use.

Now that ATF+4 is no longer proprietary, I don't buy ANYTHING at a Dodge dealership. Walmart even has it in their Supertech brand. $2.99 a quart. When they first brought it out, it was $1.99! I bought a case at that time. Should have bought 10! Haven't had to change the coolant yet in my '04. Good info about the Zerex. Will check at Wally's for it.
