Death wobble is bad on all chrysler 5 link front suspensions. I have had two rams and two jeep cherokees. Every time that you modify the geometry of the front end (2" lvl kit or other susp kit) you need an alignment. There catch is that you need to have mechanic set it up with the maximum allowable caster and the minimum allowable toe-in (sp?). I had death wobble so bad on one of the cherokees that I could not drive it over 40 mph. I called the manufacturer of the kit and they said to do it that way. Now every time I had them set it up this way it always went away.

Just bought a set of ProComp 9000's. $33.50 a piece. I will install on thursday. The ones they gave me are for trucks with 0-2 inch lift. They are about 2 inches longer than the Bilsteins I have before. Those topped out after I put on the leveling kit. Hopefully they are long enough and no more problems......

Got the tires rebalanced, put the new procomp 9000's on and went to the alignment shop. My alignment was off, but more interesting was the "Track" being off on the suspension. The track bar is fine but my axle is not aligned correctly. The mechanic showed me. The passenger side tire is a little further from the front fender than the drivers side, which basicly means my axel is not staight accross the front of the truck. He said it should not effect the alignment too much and was not the cause of the Death Wobble. Any one have any suggestions??????? I wonder if the dealer will fix it under warranty even though I have the 315s and leveling kit????????

Your leveling kit is the reason the axle is differently aligned with the truck now, you will need a longer track bar to correct this. I don't know who makes one yet.

The rod needs to be basically lengthened, when you lifted your truck the only way the track bar can still reach is to pull the axle one direction, Does that make sense? I wish I could draw it for you .

I see that the track bar runs horizontally from right to left side at an angle. So there is enough play in the suspension arms to allow side to side movement of the entire differential?
Kry226, I have had no problems with my set-up, but I am running stock shocks still. I have not read about anyone else having similar problems. Mike

If You unhooked the track bar you would be surprised how far the axle can move left to right.

So whats the verdict? Am I in trouble putting the leveling kit on? I have not had the death wobble recently but it does bother me the axel is off. Is there any long term problems that could arise?

Death Wobble
I've had mine do the same thing. The dealer wants replace the steering stablizer. I think that there is more to it than that. From the looks of this thread I'm right. How should I approach the dealer? Should I tell him the stablizer is not going to fix the problem? What should I do?
Thanks for any suggestions.
