I struck it Rich!! ( Kinda)
I pulled into a local Mobile station this morning and noticed that it had TWO Diesel pumps side by side. One was a LOW sulfer diesel pump and the other was a ULSD pump. Same price. The LSD sticker said " Prohibited in all 2007 and newer model year vehicles, may cause Damage" The ULSD said " Required in all 2007 and later vehicles, may be used in ALL Diesel vehicles"
Needles to say, the LSD went into my 2007 5.9L!!!!! I made a 200 mile run on it and nearly all Injector noise is gone and I got approx 1.5 MPG MORE using the Low sulfer.
I asked WHY they had it and the manager said he does not take care of that, corporate does it all .
So why would they carry both ?? I thought you couldn't sell it here in Calif???

I just found a local (phoenix, az) QT at 59th ave & I-10 that has #2 LSD. Just put a tankfull in the Jetta. Will need 1-2 weeks to run the tank down. It was on the way home from my Bro's house and just happened to find it. Will report back once the fuel runs out of the tank.

what station is it? What exit/road is it on? I am in the Menifee area once and week and wouldn't mind fillling up there then.
Is it the new one (dont remember the name) on Scott Rd right off the 215? on the East side?

BlkTAWS6, No its thr Mobil station on Newport. Head West on Newport, cross over BRADLEY and it's on the left side. The Diesel pump CLOSEST to Newport Rd ( ANd furthest from the cashier/store) is the LSD. ALl the other pumps read ULSD. Hope that helps. Its the station with the oil change place inside of it.

Flying J has LSD in the semi fueling lanes here but only ULSD in the auto lanes. Here it is about 5 cents more than ULSD. The Flying J website will show you all of their sites that still dispense LSD. I think the FEDs mandated that all trucks manufactured after 2007 model year must use ULSD. Many other countries are still using only LSD so quite a bit of it is still produced, much of it here in the U.S.A. along the Gulf coast, so it will still be available.

After running 1 tank of the Low Sulfer I gained nearly 2 MPG (1.9) and my EGT's were lowered by 150 or so degrees. Quicker cool down time etc...
