i need some aswers on the 48re
i own a 04 305/355 with 43k on it and had the tranny make a noise and small vibration when we were going through a pass uphill in colorado as it up-shifted from 3rd to 4th but it stopped as soon as i let of the pedel. Dodge sent me a letter about some line needing replaced and i did not have the problem again until i put the edge e-z on and was towing a small trailer going up the on-ramp and it shifted from 3rd to 4th, it made the same noise again. Just wondering have i done damage or is it minor and what can i do to up-grade

Take it to the dealer. There was a TSB on my 03's tranny, same as yours, it may be related. My letter said get it in, as sever damage may occour to transmission.
I took mine in for the TSB, it took all of 45 minutes to do what ever they did and change the oil.

I think they have to replace some of the lines for freer flowing hoses. Not sure but my 04 had the recall, and I also did it right away, to avoid the severe damage they mentioned. I believe it said this would only happen under high temps/tranny pressures though, such as when towing heavy loads.
