I have a Delemma, PLEASE help :)

I reported last June that I noticed a small ring of oil on the back side of my turbo, nothing even remotely forming a drip. Took it to TWO dealers, both said same thing, Normal, probably a coating, unless it is dripping, run it. Now I have 40,000 on the truck, turbo is the same and has never gotten worse. I noticed my Intercooler hose has a slight oily grime. Just makes it shiny. Once again , no drips. I called dealer on the phone, they want the 100.00 to inspect it and if covered then thats all I pay. If they find NOTHING ( Or say it's normal again) then I still pay the 100.00. MOney is a bit tight. What would you do? Press the issue or drive it until it gets so bad it drips? If ever LOL Thanks!

Well have you checked for front to back and side to side shaft play? That will give you an idea on the condition of your turbo. Also check the impeller blades for roughness... I would also check the oil return and incoming lines just in case...

If it was documented last june it should be covered under warranty, and i would not give them $100.00 to fix. I would try to fix it myself or go to another dealer. I do not know what is exactly covered under the 100,000 mile cummins warranty but that might be the ticket.

That is complete garbage. That is why everytime I see these posts about being you own warranty stations and not ripping the dealer off, I laugh because for the most part they will take every dime from anyone they can get to hand it over. I see it like this, the truck is under warranty/You take it in with your concern/they look at it/if no problem, you leave and pay nothing/end of story. if there is a problem/then they figure out if deductibles apply and things like that/end of story.

we want a 100.00 to look at it is bull.

I made an appt to go to a different dealer. They were able to see that I had taken it 2 places previously. They said they would just take a look and go from there but it was DOUBLE documented BEFORE my 36,000 ran out. I'll keep everyone posted. I am not a turbo expert. I can fix a lot of stuff, not those. But thanks for the advioce.
