Lightbulb I got a RECALL on my 48RE today

Guys I got a recall notice in the mail today. It's 48re related, but I believe different from the one posted above. Did anyone else get this?

"The problem is - The transmission cooler line on your truck can transmit high pressure pulses when the vehicle is operated at heavy loads. These pulses may cause the engine mounted cooler to crack and leak fluid which could result in significant transmission damage."

I got the same recall in mail last week. I believe this is the same recall everyone is talking about. I think Chrysler inspects line and trans cooler mounted to drivers side engine and if needed they replasce line with another one that has part rubber hose in place to absorb high pressure pulses that might crack small black trans cooler mounted to side of engine. Somebody else chime in and let me know if I'm correct.

That's the C44 recall. Got mine this week also. I'm scheduled to take it in on Monday for the cold weather TSB and the C44 recall.

It's for all truck with the 48RE built before 11/24/03.

I just checked my "Vehicle Shipping Status and History", my truck came off the assembly line and went into storage at 4:38 PM on 11/24/03! However I have check for recalls and none are listed for my VIN number and I haven't gotten anything in the mail.

c-42 is three little o ring seals that go onto the jtec engine controller to help keep moisture out.

Took mine in for the C-42 and C-44. Dealer told me that the cooler on the side of the block has blockage and has to be replaced. They didn't have the part, so it goes back on Wednesday.

Even tho my truck is an 04, they said they'd do the c44 and c-42. Also doing the idle-up TSB . Yay, should be done friday.

Got the C44 and the idle up flash done today.. Total time was about 1 hour. The idle up feature is slick. They should have have the feature actived before it ever left the factory.

BTW, Not sure if the reflash for the idle up feature does anything or it's in my head, but my motor seems to make less noise at idle and just seems smoother all around.

I just had the C44 & C42 recalls done today. The tranny line has about a 5" rubber section in the middle of the pipe. My problem is that is exactly where my tranny temp probe is mounted !

The dealer refused to re-install the fitting, which was cool with me as it is not factory. I had them leave the original pipe in, and left the new pipe in my truck. I will take care of installing myself.

Got mine back in there today so they could replace the tranny cooler on the side of the block. It took them all day and they are still not done. They didn't want to give me a loaner car over the weekend, but I got one now. Picked it up from Enterprise.......a 2004 F-150 four door gasser with 16 whole miles on it.

Bottom line is, don't wait on the recall. Go get it done.
