Huge Mopar Air filters!

I always use Mopar/Fleetguard filters until my engine warranty runs out. When I went to the dealer to buy a new one he said that they only make 1 filter now that fits both the 5.9 and 6.7. So I had to get the " Big one" that the media fills up the entire air box. He said Dodge got miffed at the 6.7 guys running the 5.9 filters claiming ignorance so they only make these now for everyone to use. Has anyone used the big ones in a 5.9??? Does it effect mileage any? Thanks!

I picked up the new Mopar filter last week. The new part number is infact 53034249AA. The fellow at the parts counter was unaware that the old part number had been superceded.

To many warrenty claims due to the old filter letting to much dust/dirt by so the new one for the old 5.9 is the new bigger filter element.
Mine doesn't draw my filter minder down like the old small one.

I'm using one. No difference in performance, egt's etc. Very nice product. I got the NAPA version. To be honest though, using my AFE PG7 for 22,000 miles has netted me a clean intake and silica readings or 5 or less. I use this new one for 12,000 miles.

I tried a NAPA air filter (it was not the newer one like is used on the 6.7) and the rubber at the top was to thick and caused the top of the air box to not fully seat, so took it back and am using my old Fleetguard filter until I can get a new one.

Funny, mine closed down like the stocker. The AFE conversely, always gave me some resistance.

its such a good air filter,, it doubles as a "MATTRESS"! Get stuck on the road, , pull it out, throw it in the bed of ya truck,, You set!

I just got one of those and had to call the dealer to make sure they gave me the right one. It's quite a bit bigger than the old white filters.
