I built my own kit. Cost were cheap for me, because I had a friend that owned a wrecking yard. I would suspect about $700 to do it yourself. I posted everything on here. I guess check my back posts. I did it about 2 years ago and never had a problem since. I gained about 3mpg. with the conversion.

Well after doing some more measuring, the Ford hubs and lockouts will work on our Dodge axles, however neither the Ford or Dodge outer stub shaft will work correctly. I am going to look into a D60 Chevy outer stub shaft as well as calling around to see what it would cost to get a custom made set of outer stub shafts. I hate to spend $2k on a kit when I can find a superduty axle for $500. I would be limited to the factory 30 spline, but I am mainly looking for the locking hub feature.

Read my posts. I believe I posted under (DIY Manual Hubs) it explains everything what you need in parts and tools and how to do it. There is alot more to it than just finding hubs that will work. What about brakes?

If I can get some outer stub shafts that will work correctly then the superduty hubs/unit bearings will simply bolt on and still use the factory dodge breaks, rotors, knuckles and all. Maybe not as strong only being the factory 30 spline, but just thought it might be a less difficult swap if all I had to change would be the outer stub shaft.

I told him that that kind of backorder time was unacceptable.
Ugh....that is the same shpeel I got from him a year ago. After waiting 6 months and hearing nothing but empty delivery date promises, I could not wait any longer. Dynatrac was the only viable option. I had their kit within 3 days of ordering.

I have had my hubs for 6 months with zero issues. The highway drive is much smoother and 2 low is just awesome for backing up my heavy 5ver. The biggest thing to me is the piece of mind of not wondering if a unit bearing is going to blow 200 miles from nowhere while towing.
