Question Howdy

Just want to say hello to everyone for the first time post, and also wanted to post a question?
I have a 03 1 ton 4x4 crew cab 6sp 4.10's dually, I just rolled over 29,000 miles and I now have this horrible DRONE and VIBRATION going on in the truck. It has never once done this before. It seems to only do it when I let off the gas at any speed? Also when I let off the gas and apply the brake, this is when I get the drone and vibration in the pedals? The drone almost sounds like a jake brake sound from an 18 wheeler, just not as loud? It is not consistent though, some times while driving it does it and then nothing?
Has anyone heard of this? The truck hasn’t had anything major wrong with it, I hope it still doesn’t?

Enjoy the site. As far as the troubles, check Hoots topic at the top of the forum or do a search on drone and I think that you will find more that you really need. Have fun and enjoy the truck.

Yo, and welcome. I think there's quite a bit of info on the vibration and drone. Someone will chime in with info, or you can do a search using the button at the top.

Bram,
Welcome to the site! Hide your credit cards as this place can get expensive Lots of cool ways to spend money on your truck, floating around in the forums.

Good luck on your "Drone " issue, it is not something being suffered by you alone, so keep an eye on the forums for information pertaining to it.

You should find a remedy to your problem through the action of these other fine people trying to fix theirs.

Good luck!

Bram, welcome to this site. As Lary said, hide your credit cards! Maybe start looking for a group help site also as this place can get addictive. Don't tell us later that you were not warned.
So far I have been fortunate because my truck is free of all the problems that some guys are experiencing. Mine is an early build and I have sometimes wondered if maybe that is a good thing because for the early ones everybody is checking to see that it is built correctly.

If this is just starting, you might want to get your U joints checked out. There have been several instances of early failures around the milage you have now. Be sure and let us know.

Thanks for the nice welcome, and suggestions.
I found a lot of information already on this board, it just seems that they’re problem is while driving and at certain rpm levels?
Mine is random, and only when I let off the gas pedal? I'm scheduling an appointment today, so I'll let you all know what I find out.
Oh and before I go I forgot to mention before that my fan is out of balance also, maybe this has something to do with my problem?
