Hehehe....that also has been discussed many times. ;D Maybe...maybe not....depending on where you take it for service. Technically, you're modifying the turbo....so technically, they could void the warranty on the turbo if they wanted to. However, I seriously doubt that many dealerships would even notice it's not there.

it also helps if you replace the SILENCER TUBE, the black plastic tube thats between the airbox, and the turbo. it has an X shape inside it to muffle the whistle. Geno`s sells one for 50 bucks, a little steep for a tube. i was lucky to have member mark thomas make one for me, 15 bucks i think. he did a reel nice job,you can PM him, i dont know if he`s still making them.now, when i put my foot into it a little, i can really hear her sing

Yes, fix the tube also...I had another reply, but jacked it up.
I have the original tube minus the baffle...not the best thing to do. I am designing my own tube/velocity stack as its replacement.

I'm hesitant to replace the tube for one simple reason....it will be obvious. If they see the tube is replaced, they will likely suspect the silencer ring is missing...when they otherwise never would have checked. They could decide to be jerks and void the warranty on the turbo. I'll replace the tube when I'm out of warranty.

Re:how to remove silence ring
The silencer ring is there to do one thing, silence the turbo. Take it out- it'll make the turbo louder. Will it void a warranty? No, the only thing it does is make the turbo quieter. That's why DC put it there. Truck runs exactly the same with or without. Now if you go in the turbo and hack up the blades trying to get the ring out, that'll probably void the warranty. ;D

Sounds a little ricey folks....mods that don't give any performance? Why not put a big fin on the truck, spinning rims, and a pop can muffler?

That might void the warranty. :
