How many miles before performance box

Just got my 07 and was just wondering when most people start putting on fueling boxes? What is everyone's opinion?

You just want to wait long enough to make sure you've got a good truck, every so often one seems to roll of the factory floor and nothing seems to work,
they are few and far between but it's still a good idea to run the dog pee out of it for at least 2-3000 miles first.

By the way i waited 2300 miles.

I waited 1200 miles before doing any mods. I too agree that you should wait a couple thousand miles at least. Cause if you got a lemon and its heavy modded, your stuck!

I didn't leave the dealer ship before I have put mine on. At the time I just owned a edge ez. I have 40000 on it now and have not had a big problem yet.

I am going to slowly work my way into all that beefy stuff...started with a cool air, aftermarket exhaust will be here in two days...but I am going to sturdy up my tranny before I do things to upgrade my motor. Next purchases will be new valve bodies and a TC...that should strengthen my tranny enough to do a few engine mods...I have seen some people send these stock trannies (auto anyway) up in smoke with just a box and some other minor upgrades and the TC slippage is very noticeable after you add a couple hundred horses and a few hundred pounds of torque...now as for the motor, add some head studs, aftermarket intercooler, some new injectors and a newer, cooler running intake manifold...heck, maybe an elbow and new exhaust manifolds and you could probably put anything on her that you want...that's what I'll be doing sooner than later hopefully!

People buy a new truck....then they buy a go fast box to put on the new truck....gotta keep up with the Jones's.... If 1 box is good....2 boxes is more better? But now it pings, or idles wierd, or my cruise acts up, or my injectors and my turbo and my clutch and my transmission slips... What should I do? Spend more money. Right? Thank God for my warranty. So now they end up in the shop and they (some) wonder why their warranty just went down the toilet? You play, you pay . Welcome to the club.

Oh.... In my case, I took the truck to the dealer for an injector noise. After 5 days in the shop, I am told that they will need to look at the bottom end. I'm thinking ***? Later I am told that it had been determined that the waste gate had been tampered with thus voiding my warranty. I had changed the plastic hose clamp at the vacuum line on the waste gate. The plastic clamp would not stay tight, so I put a stainless clamp in its place. So at 50000 miles with no proof of the computer showing an over boost, I no longer had a warranty. The injector knock ended up being a electral plug somewhere on the harness. I'm not sure which one as I started at the ECM and went up. After unpluging every conection, checking and adding a little dieletric grease, the injector knock was gone. Two months later, the truck was stolen. Oh well.....lesson learned.

Waited till I had a whoppin 99 miles on the odometer. Which was the day after I bought it. As of 54,000 miles, I can honestly say I have enjoyed most every moment of my truck.
