How to grease the front driveshaft
I've done lots of reading here, was able to find the small spot to inject grease. I bought a set of grease needles from Napa, which look about the diameter of a standard number 2 pencil lead.
I could not get the needle to go in at all. It seems like the hole in the grease area is very small. I had a air needle for pumping up basketballs and stuff. Tried to put it in the whole, still too big.
What needle are you guys using? Anyone have a part number that works for sure, and where you picked one up? I've got 8500 miles on my truck now and need to grease that joint.
Thanks.

I purchased one from NAPA and had the same issue, I could not hold the nozzle, gun and pump it. I recruted my 6 year old to hold and pump the gun and I held the nozzle, worked great.
All you need is a 6 year old to help!!

Haha, I have a 6 year old too. Actually, I was trying to stick the needle in the hole when I didn't even have it connected to my grease gun, just to see if it fit. It did not fit, too fat. I'm going to grab my drill bit set and crawl under there, use the blunt end of the bits to figure out the right size to fit, then try to find a needle to match.

Ah yes, I just did that today. I use a 6 inch needle style from Napa, but always get grease on the outside too. I figure I fill the space, and then the excess runs back out. I may try the hypo style in the future.
