My IC is slooooowly turning silver(which I like) the black paint is peeling but I want it all off cause it looks kinda dumb. What is the best way to get the black paint off??

 

Well if you are going to remove the IC, I would say maybe Aircraft stripper. Then power was it. Just my .02

 

When I removed mine, I used aircraft paint stripper available at auto zone. I used 2 cans and a brush to loosen some of the paint. I don't think you'll ever get it completely out of the fins but it comes off the end tanks easily.

 

Oven cleaner works wounders

 

Mine is just starting to peel....pisses me off.

Another vote for oven cleaner.

 

I got some outside home ac coil cleaner from lowes and it took the paint off my ac unit coils (bummer) It just all hosed right off. I would guess it would take the paint off of the ic too.
