How cold to use high idle reflash?

I just had the high idle flash upgrade done. It does not seem to be working, but it's been warm here lately so I assume it needs to below a certain temp.

Thanks
Pete

The high idle feature you are referring to should be able to be activated anytime, and at any temperature.

It's not related at all to the cold weather initiated high idle that all of our trucks came with.

I thought it should work at any temp also. But, I talked to the tech and he said he had noted somewhere that there is a temp threshold that it has to be below.

Where did he say it was noted? Next time you see him, ask him to show you the documentation.

My guess is that he didn't know, and got off easy.

Someone on this site posted a jpg of the TSB a little while ago. I'll see if I can find it.

Here it is (thanks jlbota):

The subject speaks of cold weather and slow warm-up, but the operating parameters of the TSB do not include ambient temps to facilitate operation.

Yes, you are right. Went back to the dealer and they enabled it in 5 minuts. Nice feature. Can now use the cruise control to vary the idle. May be nice in the Texas summer to help cool things or charge batteries, but more so it's a coll toy .

Also dry fitted the steel transfer case skid plate parts and they do fit.

I changed the link to it so that other site wouldn't get whacked with referrals.

No, it's only compatable with automatic transmissions.
