Question hot engine

Ok so last Sunday I'm driving home from my soccer game in San bernadino when my fuel line cracked and I started leaving a mist of gas behind me. So I pulled off the freeway and had it towed home. I ordered the part and put it on. Now everytime I turn on my a/c it smells like gas (which is understandable) but after 3 hours of my truck being off..the engine is still pretty hot. I took my smarty off to see if it would change anything but it didn't..any ideas?

Is it hot on the gauge or you just feeling the heat in the engine bay by hand? That is one big hunk of iron under that hood and it holds heat a long time after it is shut down.

Ya what I meant was diesel gas...I'm pretty sure they don't make smartys for gas engines. But ya it's by hand that it feels hot...I know it's a big engine but it didn't feel like it got any cooler after a 3 hour period and that was only after a 5 minute drive home from school

As long as your not overheating on the gauge, and not loosing coolant I think the heat thing is not a problem.
