Home Depot Intake Mods

I took the idea of a home mod (seen by others on this site) and
enhanced it with a removal/cleanable nylon house screen
I adapted a 4" dia coller out of the gutter section at Home Depot
and sanded it so it fit snug with the screen attached.
This way, I can pull it out and clean it while I clean my AFE ProGuard 7 drop-in panel filter.

I dont notice any performance gains, but I do hear the turbo whine a bit more since adding this mod and the AFE filter.
MPG seemed to have creeped up approx 1mpg also.

Should help with the EGT's when we tow our 5er again.

Check out the photos (9 total) in my gallery

What was in the hole before the mod? I'm new here and haven't yet seen how air gets into the airbox.

So that sound similar to the mods we did to the Dmax airbox. We just drilled a bunch of holes.
