holly fuelpump

jrussell is right, the 12ga. is recommended and it is what we used but you I don't think a little lighter wire would hurt. I used the heavier 12ga. because with my luck on my old 2002 if I had gone lighter I'll bet I would have had problems!

Okay i just installed the holley blue fuel pump on my truck tonight. And i cannot get it to draw fuel up. The pump will get warm while cranking and get's power to the pump. But it just doesn't seem like the pump is working like it should. I installed the red wire to red wire and the factory lift pump brown wire to the black on the holley. I doesn't seem to be working at all. And the pump is brand new.
Anything else to check on this. Or is it possible i got a bad pump. Or is there some thing i passed up while wiring. I also did away with the factory fuel canister and used remote filter heads and filters. So therefore the big plug for the factory canister is unplugged along with the water in fuel indicator.
HELP...

Josh:
You could very well have gotten a defective pump. I would suggest taking the Holley off and trying to see if it will pull #2 diesel fuel from a pail or container. I just hook the Holley to a battery on the floor and put a rubber hose on each end to make sure the Holley can pull the fuel out of that pail
and empty it inot another empty one.
If it labors or does not seem to be able to do it, you know it is the Holley and not anything else.
What kind of fule pressure are you seeing on your gauge when the Holley is running??

It figures you fix one thing and another problem arrives. I just hope it's not a torn boot.
Thanks DTR

You are very welcome buddy! Glad to hear the Holley Pump was O.K.
Hey if your CAC Boot is torn, send me your address and I can mail you another stock one. It is not new, but it will save you the cost of a brand new one. I use the heavy PDR boots on my trucks!

Why would there be a concern over the PSI of the pusher? All it does is keep the filter housing full. I use a Holley Red-w-70K miles on it and the guage (after dumping the stock transfer POS)stays at 7lbs. Just wondering if I am not "in tune"-w-what is required. It would seem to me that putting 20lbs of pressure into the filterhousing is asking for trouble if you can to fine-w-less?
