Hummin' Cummins said,"Pennsylvania - the Tax Me State - and we're broke!" California, the Golden Gray State. Thirty-Five Billion Worse than Broke. Gov. wants to raise the licens fees on a new new Dodge/Cummins from average of $400 first year to $1200 to $1500. That's why we are trying to Recall Governor "S-*******" Gray Davis, gambles high-stakes with the peoples' money.
Hummin' Cummins,
Sound change on coast is normal, with slidder open you hear some of what others hear as you woosh by. You are blowin lots of air through that tailpipe. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Doubling fees, HunterDon, that is still only $30/yr. If that Crook Under the Golden Dome gets his way I'll be havin ta pay over $1000 in Oct. for my 03. We are lookin at changing our Legal Residence to a more Tax Friendly State, no not OR. Others much more Tax Friendly, SD, TX to name a couple. We are spending over 6 months on the road now. I may be a Native Son but I know when I'm gettin the Shaft from the Grubenor. Lots of retirees are sellin out and leavin the state.

Hi Phil<br><br>Yup, was just kidding about ours going up double, still a real deal!<br><br>When in Mexico, no one could believe we were "really from ORegon" as most of the big rigs in the park had Oregon plates on them, the cars they were towing had many different plates though, wonder why?<br><br>Curious but knows why Hunter

Hummin - Mine does the same thing [undecided]; I posted about it a few months back with no responses. It has developed into an annoying buzz during the same sequence of operations you describe, so something is getting progressively worse :'( (or at least louder...). I have been watching the broken alternator bracket thread with some interest hoping that maybe it was the culprit, as that is right where the noise is eminating from. However, I seem to be soldiering on alone in this battle...

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
Re:hissing noise when slowing down
Hunter, the ex-pats that live down in Mexico bring in one foreign plated car (US or Canuk) legally on their passport. Once down here they never have to renew tags as the Mexican cops don't worry about a little thing like that. Have seen many cars here with tags up to eight years old, but who cares? Not the insurance company or the cops. It's a good deal! 8)

Today, had my 03 in to Folsom dealer. Shop Foreman took a 45 min test drive in mine. Said it sounded like I had replaced air intake. He was surprised when he lifted the hood and saw air intake was stock, in place and tight. He had just test driven a 96 Ram turbo. Maybe my 03 engine is so much quieter he can now hear the woosh. Second thought maybe my stamped alternator bracket is goin South. Or I guess a Rattler could have crawled out from under one of those big rock piles in Folsom. They sure had plenty of rocks to build the prison and two Dams.
Hunter, How did this truck with the $30 license plates get in my post. Shore is purty though.

DAISY! Golly we missed that old gal. Sure cute in spite of having such a big lug sit on her seat and shift her gears.

Re:hissing noise when slowing down
Back on subject... Mine makes the hissing sound too especially going down hills without my foot on the peddle. It seems to be the 'gas' peddle itself. If I rest my foot on it a tiny bit it will stop hissing. So: Is this simply a loose peddle or throttle cable, or something else???<br><br>Note: When cruise is on and my foot's off the peddle it makes a rattle also....but not really a hiss! What do you expect for $60,000?

Re:hissing noise when slowing down
Just to clarify: $60,000 Canadian dollars AKA Loonies is roughly what they cost up here (that factors in tax and haggleing). Oh well, someday we'll look back and say "remember when you could get a new car/truck for under a hundered grand"<br><br>Trying to get back on subject again...Anyone have a fix for the peddle hiss / rattle problem? Besides keeping your foot on it, that is.<br><br>Personally I'm not too worried about - just find it annoying.

My first new auto was a 67 Plymouth Satellite Sebring, 2dr hard-top, vinyl roof, with 5.2 L (318 cu in) V-8, Power steering and 3 speed automatic. Gave 16 mpg on Hwy @ 37 cents per gal. 15. mpg in city. Dealer Price, $3200, one-tenth of my 2003 Ram price.
