High revs & shaking at stop signs
Just before getting home (after about 3 hours of hiway driving) my 04.5 with a 48RE started shuddering and hi reving at stop signs and stop lights. It was shifting fine and the revs would come down and the shuddering would stop if I put it in neutral or park at the stops. Any ideas? Can anyone remind me how to retrieve the trouble codes? I've done it before but since forgotten how. Thanks

I had a very similar problem and I think it was due to running the tranny low on fluid, heating up the TC and it not disengaging. Check this thread out.

Thanks guys but I'm not low on fluid. Had the valve body replaced about a year and a half ago and haven't driven it much (maybe 12,000 mi.) since. If the TC is screwed up do I need to do a complete rebuild? Sorry for my ignorance but this is my first (and last) auto tranny in a diesel. Thanks again and any further advice would be greatly appreciated.
