What smokeman said...plus RPM can only be adjusted between 1100 and 1500rpm.

Pressing either cruise again, cancel, or brake will turn off high idle.

I just talked to a tech at a dealer yesterday and he said to bring it on by and he would do it right then. He knows that I have a manual and said it can be done.

So yes an 04 305 555 can certainly be done.....I don't know about the 03 305 555 but I would think so.

Let us know how that goes.

It can't be done (with a DRB).

I'd be worried about that tech.

I went to the dealer today to get it done. The service writer had NO IDEA what I was talking about. He got a 2006 owners manual and I showed him. He then had to get a mechanic who had NO IDEA either.

The mechanic finally figured it out after he put it on the Star Scan and had it done in TWO MINUTES.

No charge and they both learned something new today...

Wish my dealer didn't know what it was then maybe I wouldn't have been charged $27 for 2 minutes work, but it was still worth it.

Where did you buy the switch? Can this be done on a 06?

COPARAM 4x4 -

They shouldn't have charged you because TECHNICALLY, it is covered under your warranty. Even the TSB states that it is covered under the factory warranty.

The dodge tech who does my side work said it was just a simple proximity switch like the big trucks use for the reverse sensing switch. So i guess if you got one of those, fabbed a bracket and got a couple of ECM pins you could save yourself $200.

NOTE: I think when you push the clutch in it actually disengages the switch.

Pet05, Yea if wanted to push it I could have probablly not had to pay, but I was just happy they were doing it by showing up and not having to make an appointment for next thursday after a leap year on an odd month......haha.
Next is my engine block heater cord. Does anyone know if just the black plastic cap comes off?
Lance.

Since I have an '06, I just need the tech to use the StarScan tool to activate the feature? What is the name of the feature. He knew what I was talking about, but just had not done one yet and did not know how to do it.

It is called the HIGH-IDLE FEATURE. It takes 5 minutes to turn it on with the STAR SCAN device. Easy

You have a 6 speed so I think it is a little more involved. A clutch cancel switch...I have a buddy that wants to do it so let us know how it goes. I've seen lots of post for the manuals but never anything detailing what they actually had to do to get it working (the posts were very vague).
PS I love the feature...cool down time is cut in half after driving. It hasn't got cold enough for me to use it to warm up my truck.
