Help voltage regulator went south
#16
Both battery's run 14.98 to 15.29 and it holds steady for about 2 mins when I 1st start the truck then you can hear it surge and see it in the dome light until I rev the truck a little

The grid heater would cycle on off and cause the voltage surge.
The grid heater would stop cycling once you drive the truck over 15 mph.
As far as both batteries reads the SAME voltage you are fine.

I've been thinking about doing that too I just hate taking my truck to a dealership and having them charge so much for things I think I can do with a little help from Google lol

I DO UNDERSTAND BUT HEARS THE THING THE ALTERNATOR CHARGES THE BATERY ON THE RIGHT? YES THE CABLE RUNS ALONG THE RADIATOR AND OVER TO THE LEFT OR DRIVER SIDE BATTERY? YES THAT CABLE IS BAD BUT CHECK THE GROUNDS AND IF POSSIBLE BACK UP THE GROUND LINES TO DIFFERANT FRAME LOCATIONS And make sure all connections are clean and tight frank
