Help voltage regulator went south
I believe my voltage regulator went out on me .I was driving home from the in laws and my check gauge light came on showing my battery's were low. Had my charging system checked and was told it was my alternator changed it and then both battery's went out ... kept looking on the Web and did some checking and some test and realized it was my voltage regulator. .... went back to the web and found that you can put an external regulator on it and bypass the internal regulator I seen a post on the forum and did it verbatim that he did and it works for the first 2 to 4 minutes then blew my ignition fuse .... so was going to put it on a switch... but it's not working and my green wire is getting power is that normal ?

Ok, is this the same truck you were talking about on the first gen section?
If so, find the source of corrosion in either the battery cables themselves or the terminals.
When one battery get the whole charge it boils it over and the other one gets little if any charge.

Yes it's the same truck I haven't found any corrosion on any cables or on the terminal and both battery's are brand new ... will it mess up the the voltage regulator if the truck is running and I unplug the pigtails from the regulator itself and its sparks ...and thanks for the help

start the truck and check the voltage on both batteries, the 06 charges the battery on the passenger side but the regulator and voltmeter monitor the driver side battery, on a 06 i have seen where the passenger cable connects to the driver side terminal bolt did not make good contact, i had 18 volts on passenger and 10 on driver, boiled the passenger battery dry

So I pulled all my cables and cleaned them really good pulled them out of the sheathing and cut a couple spots to check if it was under the sheathing. didn't find anything. Changed my reg and battery one more time now both battery's read the same but now they are running around 14.9v to 15.2v with everything on... it's a little high I know what do you'll think ?
