on Sunday I hooked up my truck to my trailer and went to go camping. When I was on the freeway I usually get it up to about 70mph and it pulls good there (egts usually 950-1000) flat land. on Sunday it didn't want to get up to 70 and I stayed at about 65mph and the egts were 1050-1150. Well as you can also imagine fuel mileage was also horrible. I already going to take the truck in because of my low speed trans problem does anyone have any ideas of what my new problem is or is this part of the trans also? thanks in advance for all your input.

 

blowin any smoke or sound/feel like it was missing? low on power increased egt's and burning lots of fuel could be an injector sticking and dumping fuel. I would check your oil level is it high or does it smell like diesel?

 

it doesn't seem to be blowin any smoke, and it doesn't seem to be missing. I will have to check the oil level and see if that is high. Could it be a pluged fuel filter? or bad fuel? I had this happen to me once before about 2 years ago when i was towing. I changed my fuel filter after i finished that tank full of fuel. And never had the problem again. I just changed the fue filter about 3-4 months ago. Maybe 2000 miles ago max, i don't drive this truck everyday.

 

always worth checkin the easy stuff first i would look at air/fuel filters. what about weak lift pump?
