Help with 04' making alot of racket...

Hi guys, my 04' went from a slight ticking sound to knock,knock,knock,etc...to bam, bam, bam,...the knocking to bamming was approx 1 minute, so I shut it off. It also had the ticking ever since I got it back from the diesel shop to get new injectors and pump. The knocking and bamming came out of no-where... It had a bunch of blow-by after it started making the noise as well. So I think it blew a piston or something because the diesel shop I just happened to coast into said it was probably because of the Edge box I had and that it was known for overfueling. So now the head is off and everything looks good. I am at a loss....was it just an overfueled cylinder that made the sounds that shook the floor of my truck? Any help would be appreciated...at least I now know I can pull the top end apart pretty easy..thanks, Scott

Have you pulled the pan to pull the pistons and check the rings?

haven't pulled the pan yet, was hoping it may be an injector...there was no popping, sounded more like a bearing that went bad and then went worse. I will pull pan today to get a better idea I guess...thanks
