Hello folks. I have been hangin around reading the boards for a long while now and now I have run into a problem with my 03 thats got me pullin my hair out by the roots.
Heres my Truck
2003 Dodge 3500 4x4. auto trans. EVERYTHING is stock save the aftermarket fuel/lift pump.
Heres some of the problems I'm having.
#1. NO CODES. Yes I said no codes. Not a one of them.
#2. NO POWER. This thing wont pull a sick wh*^e off a pee pot.
#3. Increased noise comming from motor.(fuel knock????)will go away if one of the lines is cracked open
#4. Black smoke/white smoke.....Raw fuel smell
What I have done so far.
#1. Checked for codes.
#2. Checked fuel supply
#3. Checked ALL lines
#4. Repalced APPS on the advice of dealer.
I've been working on this problem since sunday and I'm about at my wits end.
Can anyone help?

yeah check grounds.
make sure you got fuel pressure
there is a wire on the newer trucks but yours might be affected to that is by the passenger side frame that rubs on the frame and motor i believe it is pink my 03 had wire loom on it but some do not just look for a pink bare wire towards the front a little infront of the turbo

Sounds to me like a boost problem. Check your turbo, exhaust, intercooler and all of your piping.
If its an auto you can step on the brake and gas together in gear to try to make a bit of boost while someone sticks there head under the hood and looks/listens for a boost leak. Obviously some caution is required with this.

Here's what mine did. Sounds kind of similar. Good luck!

If you don't find a ground issue sounds like an injector or pump. Cracking the lines on these truck with it running is not recommended and would have spewed a ton of fuel all over the place. What is the oil level? IF above full then likely injector has died. The deal should have done a shut down test to find which one. When mine when out power was down and engine was noisy(only noticed it with rebuilt injectors as truck was quiet again) Smoked at idle. White at cold idle brown haze at warm idle. Good luck.

i have posted on a couple of other forums about my dads 03 acting up. first his cam sensor went out. and it threw no codes. and his truck would just die and go slow and blow smoke.
so he got the cam sensor fixed then the truck died again. and again no codes. they found wires rubbing on the frame.
so just maybe your cam sensor is bad to.

Thanks again for the input. I think I have 3 injectors going down in this POS. Had a mech do a cyl cut out test and he says injectors 1,3,4 are not working correctly. We will see shortly. Now I'm searching for threads on how to remove these injectors correctly.
Thanks thank for all the help and ideas. I will keep you posted.
