Heater hose help!

Hey gang, I just replaced the exhaust manifold on this truck. I have it all installed and torqued down. I am having a real hard time getting the bracket for the lowere heater hose that is held down on the stud on the lower side of number five cylinder. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That heater hose support bracket is a challenge for sure.

The easiest way is to cut it in about the middle to remove.

Putting it back you have a few options...

Many folks and most dealers will then bolt the L shaped piece on the ex manifold stud and then weld the 2 halves back together.
This works fine until you have to get in there again.

What I have done many times is to cut it but then drill the 2 ends and bolt the bracket together with a small piece of mild steel.
This will hold it just fine and if you ever have to remove it again it's just a matter of nuts and bolts.
