have you had your cp3 warrantied?
If you have had to have your cp3 pump replaced under warranty because of leaking, will you please send me a quick email.
Just year and miles(if known when replaced) of truck
if warranty covered it
if your truck was stock or what mods you had
I am trying to get mine replaced under warranty since they are a problem even on stock trucks and has nothing to do with the mods I have.
thanks a bunch

Why do you think Dodge should replace it under warranty? You have run a box/programmer on your truck so I can see them not wanting to as it ups the pressure on part of the fuel system. You should have checked these things out before you put it on your truck so as to not void the warranty. As the old saying goes if you play you have to pay and not Dodge

If I cracked an injector or blew a head gasket I wouldn't have even called the dealer. The reason they should replace it is because it is a quality control problem. It has nothing to do with my mods. They are failing left and right on bone stock trucks. When DC is relplacing them, they are using an "upgraded" pump. That alone says that the original is a piece of junk. I will take responsibility for hurting anything that relates to what I have done to the truck. This is not related.

Mine was replaced under warranty, bone stock truck, last January with about 18,000 miles - once I convinced the tech it was leaking. That involved physically getting him under the truck, and guiding his finger up to the wet spot. (Well now, that didn't sound quite right, did it? ).
Then they called STAR, then it took a month to get the part.

omaharam,
The problem you are having is why you shouldn’t use any thing that could void your warranty. The sad part is you gave Dodge and easy out because of its use. I can understand you wanting your cp3 pump replaced if they used cheap parts to make it but once you put the box/programmer on your truck you were SOL if any thing related to its use broke. I think every one knows that the use of a box and or programmer can cause things to break.
You do know that it’s going to cost you a lot of money trying to prove that your cp3 problem has nothing to do with your use of a box/programmer being they can cause higher pressure on the fuel system above what Dodge thinks it can handle safely.

My truck is bone stock and has had two CP3s replaced due to leaking. I would have to pull my records at home to know the exact date and mileage. The last replacement was supposedly the improved one with the weep hole in a different location. Funny thing though, it is a remanufactured unit. Just going from memory, if the part number has an S in it,then it is the redesigned pump. If there is an R in the part number it is a rebuilt unit. My pumps always started to leak when the winter temperatues arrived. Do a search and you will find a bunch of entertaining reading on the leaking CP3 syndrome. Tis the season.

there were two pumps a cp3 and a cp3s I'm not sure what the difference between the two pumps are (if any)because everyone I have had apart has been a cp3s which was supposedly a updated pump but they are still leakers .
