As I reported earlier, got the truck back on Aug 30, after #2 injector was replaced. I've been running Diesel Kleen @ every fill upand I towed with it over the Labor Day weekend. I noticed the difference in the way it ran, particulary at idle, the minute I picked it up form the dealer. The difference being MUCH BETTER! Well guess, what??? It's back to the same ole issue - white smoke and rough idle at start up! Another injector, maybe? Man, I'm not happy about this - I thought these trucks were less problematic? Anyone else having injector problems. THANKS. PCM

I have had the same issues. NO ADDITIVE has solved my issues. I've tried PS, Lucas, Howes, Cummins brand, Mopar brand. Replacing the bad injector solved my issue, but now it is slowly returning. It will be going back for another injector as soon as I can get in there.

I would tend to agree. My servicing dealer is a diesel owner and detail oriented. I drive 40 miles to this dealer just because I like them....no convenient at all! He told me that 1 or more injectors may have to be replaced in the future and that Dodge is aware that they have bad injectors. He says they are in hopes of a new and better injector replacment. I hope so!

Yeah, take it in. If the dealer is any kind of experienced diesel tech, he can tell something is wrong just my the way it SOUNDS! I did have to leave it overnight so it would be cold. Going to call them this week and see when I can take it in AGAIN!

on start ups, only in the morning after the truck has been sitting, there would be blue smoke from the tail pipe and it would stop as soon as u hit the throttle. but now my turbo has been replaced with a new one and there is no more blue smoke at start up AT ALL. so does this mean that everyones turbos are leaking oil somehwere and thats causing the blue smoke?

are you saying your turbo was replaced by warranty and the turbo was causing the smoke? it sounded more like an injector leaking down. i have the smoke on start up as well. dealer said he would call me back but that was this morning 8 hours ago and no call!!
will call him in the a.m.

You need to do the following to help prevent problems:
1 - Get rid of the 10 micron filter and run a MINIMUM 7 micron Fleetguard fuel filter OR the 5 micron Bosch filter. Keep them changed every 10K.
2 - If you haven't had the fuel vent filter re-call done, DO IT. Do a research here on-line and you will find tons of info.
3 - Run 8 oz Marvel Mystery Oil and 8 oz. Power Service (or other good fuel cleaner) in every 20 Gallons of fuel.
These steps will help keep the truck/injectors running good.
