Always second if I am on the level and have no load.
Wasn't there a thread with the same question some time ago?

2nd. Occasionally, just to work it, 1st.

Of course, loaded, 1st.

2nd if stopped, 3rd if rolling above 5 mph. 1st if loaded for bear or creeping up to a stop sign in line behind other cars.

1st, 2nd, 3rd. Whatever I feel like. If I am on any hill or have any load I will always use 2nd. I very rarely use 1st unless I want to move very little distance with a big load. Even with 8-10000#s I usaly use 2nd. Has absolutly no probs and takes off just like empty. Just let the cluch out at idle and it goes. I go around corners in 3rd or 4th.

2nd if still or uphill, 3rd if downhill or barely moving. 1st gear I would trade for a taller 6th. It's even too short for traffic creeping. Maybe one day I'll need it, but not yet.

Cool

Second gear except when I'm towing the 5 er Then it's 1st for sure unless I'm rolling.

I don't want to trade a higher 1st for a higher 5th - I LIKE MY CLUTCH

I've only had the 6spd for a little over a week, but so far I like taking off in 2nd. Have only had it in 1st a few times, seems too low for empty driving, although I'm sure it will come in handy when towing. 'Til then, I'll just use it for parking lots...
