Grrr...Bought Diesel Fuel....Got a Load of Engine OIL!
Bought fuel the other day from the local truck stop.
Two days later, the fuel pressure gauge is showing my pressure dropping. Its set at 15psi. Sometimes it would be 9psi at startup....20 miles later...its up to 15psi. Plus its not pulling as hard, and not smoking as much. I check the regulator, the setting didn't move or anything....thinking hmmm..what the hay is going on here.
Fuel filter has about 4,000 miles on it.....
I go open up the fuel filter........and its SOLID BLACK!!!!!...You can't see anything at all through it, and the diesel fuel running off of it is jet black....and smells like engine oil. So I topped it off with fresh fuel added a bottle of Stanadyne...and its almost back to normal.
Now the fuel pressure comes up to 15psi like before, but it drops pressure when I step on the go pedal, and rises up to almost 20psi in stop-n-go traffic. It never used to do this.
Now I am wondering what that tank of diesel did the holley pump, holley regulator, lift pump, CP3 and injectors?????
Who the heck gave the station owner the right to dump engine oil in diesel fuel??? I didn't see a sign saying....$2.09 for diesel/.60cents for oil=$2.69 a gallon for diesel fuel.
And here I thought by getting diesel from the truck stop, I would be getting fresh fuel.....NOT!

I dont think that you got alot of waste oil in your fuel. Running at 10% waste oil you can start to see a light haze until the turbo spools up when you give it throttle. Especially at colder temps. I wouldnt buy fuel there either.
