grid heater cycle when engine is warm?

tonight i ran to a couple of places and the engine was at 190*. i was in each place for a max of 10 minutes and the outside temp is 40*. both times when leaving, the lights dimmed twice for about 10 seconds after starting. even though the wait to start light didn't come on, i thought it might be the grid heater cycling. am i correct and is this normal with a warmed up engine?

It is normal. It uses a few different temp sensors.
