gotta knock... time for overhaul

I may have missed it but have you checked the return flow from the pump? You saying that your lift pump is very quiet makes me think that all the output is getting put back to the tank. The new CP3 came with a new overflow valve right?

SHE'S ALIVE!!!! engine is good to go! rebuild was all legit.
the mechanic i took it to runs a small shop and isnt exactly the quickest mechanic ive ever seen but he does good work. i went down and was brainstorming with him after he replaced the starter think that was the problem and testing everything else we were stumped. we weere talking and we decided when i was reinstalling the engine it must have been at a weird angle when i got it to drop back into place and i tightened the transmission bolts in pattern to pull the engine and trans together which ended up causing the transfer case to bind.. the binding from the transfer case caused enough resistance to keep the engine from firing. He backed the trans off and turned her and she fired right up and runs like a top. So he pulled the trans out and its getting a new pump and a triple disk torque converter and then everything will get buttoned up and she should be running and back on the road by next weekend...

well its taken WAYY too long but i finally get my truck back tomorrow. $2800, a new starter, a rebuilt trans and an upgraded torque converter later she will finally be back on the road... bright side is now the engine and trans are both rebuilt and essentially new and i should have to do anything like this for quite some time... pics and video coming tomorrow
