I spent 11 months looking for a used regular cab because of the parking thing. I must have seen 5,000 quad cabs for sale which is obviously what everyone else wanted. You may want to consider that for re-sale. I just had the cloth seats in my 06 redone with Katzkin. Even though your right about the heat with leather you may also want to consider how hard the cloth is going to be to keep clean (with all of the sweat). You can easily clean the leather or vinyl.

Personally, I have always had regular or at best an extended cab P/U. I am very pleased with the room in the QC, and have no problems parking or maneuvering it. I also enjoy the leather for easy of cleaning.

I love my QC LB Dually. I have driven and parked in Las Vegas, Seattle, Denver, and Albequerque. (Sorry about the spelling) I love it and don't find much trouble with parking, with a little planning. I have a toolbox and transfer tank and need the full length of bed. With my size, being over 6' I find the extra cab size a must. Will never go back to regular cab. Personally love the standard, but I pull trailers a lot. Mostly just 27' goose camper, but anything up to 36' goose dovetail. Auto are good for in town and not pulling much of a load. Just my 2 cents.

Can't get a Cummins in a 1500, unless I did it myself, and I'm not that good of a mechanic.

I like the regular cabs. The dodges have quite a bit of room behind the seats for storage compared to chevys and fords. Allways thought of a 4-door short box as someting a wife with kids would drive. Thats just me though. I know that is the most popular configuration out there....

You should be band from this site for rediculous comments like that...

I would have to agree with you though, if your not towing a decent load then looking at a new MDS hemi would be on my shopping list. That MDS system seems to be getting better mpg's then the diesels when driving them decently, and the preimum for the diesel would be off set by the cost of a new truck instead of one that is a couple years old. Make sense?? Okay maybe not, I will go back to drinking...

I'd rather drive a used cummins than a brand new hemi. I'm addicted to diesel. I love how much power they have and how much power they can make. I really don't care that I don't have anything to pull.

When someone makes a $500 programmer for a hemi that will 200+ hp, let me know.

I was in a similar dilemma of regular cab or quad cab when I got my truck. I prefer the regular cab, although it was difficult to find one that wasn't a white work truck. I had to travel to get my truck, but after almost 2 years of having it I'm still very satisfied. I like the smaller cab for a few reasons: the AC works better, I can have the long bed and still be able to park normally, I keep the truck cleaner because I don't have an extra 2 seats worth of garbage accumulation space. The only drawback is that I didn't have much secure storage. I added a hard tonneau cover and now I have the biggest locking trunk available. My trailer is bumper pull, so the cover isn't in the way.

One change that was made was we got my wife a 4 door Jetta TDI instead of another coupe. If I didn't have access to her car the regular cab might have been a harder decision.

YES!!! Having a smaller space to cool definitely helps.

And I definitely can relate on all your other points BronoAZ. Well put.

However, I'm still having a helluva time finding a regular cab SLT auto, so it looks like my decision is gonna be made for me. Quad cabs are everywhere! And there is another reason to go regular cab, to be a little unique.

There are 21 results for 06-07 reg cab 4x4 auto on autotrader. The prices seem a bit on the high side overall.

Well I got a truck yesterday. Carmax found me an white automatic 06 QC LB with only 43k miles. The thing is practically brand new. Its got the power sliding rear window and steering wheel audio controls.

I am very happy with it . The cloth is SOOOO much more comfortable, and sitting in traffic this morning not having to shift was amazing.

Parking it this morning wasn't too terribly bad, but I do believe that it won't be long before I put a backup camera on this beast.

Lets see how long this one stays stock!
